Swift decisions makes us Proud

One of the gifts we have in our little company is foresight, specially when there are risks that endanger life.

We assess risk on a daily basis because we believe that any kind of life damaging is a company killer, therefore a No Go Zone.

To assess risk and to operate on a travel company we have to be swift, and that makes us proud, because we do it faster than the competition and even than our business partners.

Back in February 20, we activated Containment at 1100Z, long before any media and civil defense agency, and 24 hours before the event we cancelled scheduled trips based on weather forecasts and scientific models.

Now is the Iceland's volcanic ash that halts flights to Madeira and we took action on April 15, when we issued reimbursements and postponed tours to help customers. We know that in hard and stressing times customers can't remember or even think about the tours they have booked with Madeira Wind Birds. That is why we go the extra mile.

We are proud of our initiative to ease our customers. Only today, we saw some action from several business partners asking not to penalize our customers... Our reply was that we took that action 96 hours ago.

Swift decisions boost customer satisfaction ;)

End of the line - a must see documentary or a must read book!

I have seen the documentary produced by Claire Lewis based on the book written by Charles Clover, "End of the Line". It is based on the over-exploitation of fish and the world's oceans are now threatened to become with no fish by 2048. This is serious and we, each of us, need to take action somehow... For example, be informed about the fish species which are threatened or near extinction and do not buy it. Ask where the fish you are buying comes from and only buy the ones with certificate label of sustainable fisheries!

End of the Line will certainly awake your awareness and together we might avoid loosing the greatest richness of our oceans...Fish! Have a look at the trailer:

Iceland's volcanic ash halts flights to Madeira

Smoke and steam from the volcano under the Eyjafjallajokull glacier in Iceland, melting ice, shooting smoke and steam into the air and forcing the cancellation of flights in Britain and disrupting air traffic across northern Europe, stranding thousands of passengers.

Some of our customers will be stranded at their airports, so we will ease this situation by reimbursing "No Shows" under evidence of flight difficulties. Therefore, we are waving the 48 hours cancellation warning for customers affected by this Nature event.

Any customer affected should contact us at www.madeirawindbirds.com or call us to +351-917777441.
