Portugal November: Ludo & Quinta do Lago

This November we decide to have a short break in mainland Portugal. One of our favourite birdwatching spots in Algarve is the Ludo and Quinta do Lago area. Easily accessible and a great choice for 3 hours calm birding.

Save sea turtles from extinction!

I have just received an e-mail with these shocking images of egg harvesting of sea turtles in Costa Rica coast. This is one of the most critical habitats for the threathen Leatherback turtle Dermochelys coriacea and also important for Green Chelonia mydas and Hawksbill Eretmochelys imbricata turtles.

Costa Rica people steel the eggs from the turtles to sell them...What they do not know is that they are selling their children's future along with those eggs. Is it possible that there are still people who do not care at all for conservation? Not even if it is their own food or income source?
